AD-COM's mission is to be North America's top provider of translation and localization services to telecommunications organizations who view these services as strategic to their offering. AD-COM is based in Montreal, Canada, home to major manufacturing and R&D facilities from firms such as Nortel and Ericsson, four major engineering schools, hundreds of telecommunications start-ups, as well as an active venture capital community.

MORE ABOUT OUR LOCATION
Strategically located in the Northeast, in North America's only truly bilingual city, Montreal has access to talent from both the technology communities in close proximity to Montreal, including Boston and Ottawa, as well as to experienced telecommunications veterans from across the globe. AD-COM calls upon talent in Europe regularly to satisfy international mandates requiring very specialized skill-sets. AD-COM's writers and translators have worked on material for organizations such as Nortel, Bay Networks and other major telecommunications organizations.

HISTORY OF OUR TELECOMMUNICATIONS DIVISION
Having been in regular contact with senior executives from the telecommunications industry, AD-COM realized that most translation agencies do not have the domain experience necessary to satisfy telecommunication industry clients, and saw the need to develop a specialty in one of the globe's most vibrant growth industries. The rate of innovation in this particular sector makes the need for a focused group of dynamic and flexible translators even more important. The industry's continually evolving vocabulary and specialized regional requirements makes it almost impossible for a generic translation agency to keep up with its linguistic requirements.

TYPES OF MANDATES
AD-COM completes mandates that fall outside the scope of many of the traditional translation firms. Our staff possesses a solid grounding in business and technology, business plans, corporate presentations, board presentations, patent applications and proposals for funding (grants, banks, etc.) which complements the more traditional work that most translation agencies do, including press releases, marketing documents, annual/quarterly reports, manuals and other technical documentation. Our telecommunications experts work in over 150 languages.

BUSINESS PLANS
International companies require an international presence. Improve your image with foreign banks, global distributors and foreign business partners seeking a better knowledge of your business.

PATENT APPLICATIONS
Despite certain tendencies, including European unification, patent applications are still a complex issue. Patents, on business processes, are but one of many recent landscape changes. Let AD-COM assist you with your patent description prior to starting the legal work, in order to facilitate the process.

APPLICATIONS/PRESENTATIONS TO GOVERNMENT BODIES FOR FINANCING
Government grants and loans are still a common business practice across the globe. Programs to train labour, enhance exports, support economically disadvantaged regions and support research and development are amongst the most common programs. Maximizing access to these programs and eventual financial benefits requires a document that speaks to local government authorities.

BANK PRESENTATIONS
Banks have become increasingly restrictive with respect to their covenants for the
high-tech sector and telecommunications has not been an exception. AD-COM
can maximize your chances of success by speaking to your audience in their language.

ANNUAL REPORTS/QUARTERLY REPORTS/GENERAL SHAREHOLDER COMMUNICATIONS
Shareholders are amongst your most important stakeholders. Let AD-COM create a clean and crisp image when dealing with this group which will impact your ability to raise funds, gain credibility and operate globally.

WEB SITES
For many companies in the telecommunications sector, the corporate Web site is the number one sales tool. With much of the telecommunications sector's growth now outside North America, a monolingual Web site is almost unthinkable.

SALES DOCUMENTS
Despite the prevalence of English in the world of telecommunications, letters of introduction, executive summaries and other sales information are still commonly available in the local language. AD-COM can help you play a key role in your expanding operations.

SALES PRESENTATIONS
PowerPoint is the standard tool for any company wanting to gain credibility when delivering a key presentation to clients. Despite the language of the presentation, a PowerPoint slide show or equivalent handouts in the language of the local community will help you get your message across.

PRESS RELEASES
With the influence of media and the importance of press releases on Web sites, accommodating the expectations of international press releases can be a critical factor in global exposure. AD-COM offers years of experience that will help you maximize your exposure in this area.

GENERAL CORPORATE LETTERS
General corporate communications are critical to the credibility of a company. AD-COM can enhance your corporate image through the creation of letters that will be read by the international business community.

BOARD PRESENTATIONS/GENERAL BOARD COMMUNICATIONS
The board of directors is your main client when building a company. Its support can enhance corporate initiatives and set the tone for corporate success. A well-targeted and comprehensible message for multilingual boards will help enhance this message.

USER MANUALS/TECHNICAL MANUALS
The manual is still the key tool in communicating with your end-user. When properly done, the manual can reduce support costs and increase customer satisfaction.

EMPLOYEE MANUALS
Human resources is the competitive advantage of most companies in the telecommunications business; a satisfied and well-informed workforce can help a modern, high-tech company achieve its objectives.

We believe that the innovation demonstrated by this industry in the 90s has begun to resume. However, a typical telecommunications company in 2010 has a greatly reduced staff and access to fewer resources. Delivering products and services at pre-2000 levels will thus be difficult, unless outsourcing is strategically used to fill some of the more important gaps. With a dynamic team of translators and industry knowledge, AD-COM can work closely with your company to deliver consistent, world-class results in a continually evolving industry.
